ARTWORK:
Pablo Pineapple
Have you ever had that moment where you walk into a room, and suddenly something overcomes you? It literally stops you in your tracks and your train of thought is completely derailed. That’s the connection I felt when—for the first time in my life—I witnessed a Pablo Picasso exhibition in Seattle at the Seattle Art Museum.
Wow!
I knew from that moment I wanted to create a piece that was inspired by, and in tribute to, Pablo Picasso. Hence, this piece titled Pablo Pineapple.
Not only does it look great on canvas, but it looks even better as wearable art. As for the leggings and capris, my design of the white illustrations is sure to compliment your gorgeous curves.

Creating This Artwork
This piece started out as a black and white illustration of a stylized pineapple.
Deep, rich colours in a fluid and loose style bring out the blocky, geometrical simplicity of this stylized still life. The white-reverse, pineapple illustration both pops off the design and at the same time deconstructs our understanding of shape itself.
